Teams and shared knowledge bases

A Hjarni team is a shared knowledge base that multiple people use at once. Each member connects their own AI client to it, so a team can be on mixed tools: one teammate on Claude, another on ChatGPT, another on Cursor, all reading and writing the same notes. This is the difference from ChatGPT memory and Claude Projects, where context is scoped to one product and usually to one person.

  • Plan: Team, $20/seat/month. The first 25 team notes are free. Seats prorate as people join or leave.
  • Personal vs shared: A note lives in either a personal space or a team, never both. Notes can be moved between them.
  • Roles: Every member has a viewer, editor, or admin role on each folder, resolved from a team-wide default plus optional per-folder overrides. Roles cascade to subfolders. A viewer reads, an editor also writes, an admin also manages other members' roles. The team owner keeps full control.
  • Read access: Every member can read the team's shared folders. Roles gate editing, not visibility within the team.
  • AI instructions: Team-level instructions apply to every member's AI; each folder can add its own on top. Personal instructions stay personal.
  • MCP: Team notes are reachable through the same endpoint (hjarni.com/mcp) as personal notes. There is no separate team connector to configure.
  • No bundled AI: Hjarni bills per seat for the knowledge base only. Members bring their own AI subscription; there is no per-message or per-token cost from Hjarni.

Enterprise controls (on request)

  • SAML 2.0 single sign-on with any compliant identity provider (Okta, Microsoft Entra, Auth0, OneLogin, and others). Users are provisioned on first login. A team can be pinned to a single email domain, and SSO can be enforced so password and OAuth logins are refused.
  • SCIM 2.0 provisioning for user create and deactivate, driven from the identity provider.
  • Per-team audit log recording who edited, deleted, and opened the team's notes and folders, plus access changes such as invites, role changes, ownership transfers, and public-link toggles. Data and privacy
