File attachments are now included on Free

File attachments are no longer something you have to pay for before you can try them.

Every Free account can now attach up to five files, with 20 MB of total storage, across personal notes. Add a PDF to your research, keep an image beside an idea, or let a connected AI save a useful document with the note it belongs to.

The allowance works wherever you add files to personal notes: on the web, through the API, and through MCP with Claude, ChatGPT, or another connected assistant.

When you reach the allowance, your existing files stay available. Remove files you no longer need to make room, or upgrade for more capacity and attachments in team and shared notes.
