The AI-native knowledge base for Perplexity

Perplexity answers from the live web. Add Hjarni as a custom connector and it can answer from your facts too: your preferences, prior research, and decisions, not just what it finds online.

What this unlocks

Workflows that actually use your context

01

Answers grounded in your notes

Perplexity is built to search and cite the web. A Hjarni connector lets it also pull from your own knowledge base, so answers reflect what you already know and decided.

02

Stop re-stating your context

Instead of explaining your situation in every query, keep it in Hjarni once. Perplexity reads the relevant notes when they matter.

03

Write findings back

Hjarni's MCP tools include create and update, so a research session can leave behind a note you and your other AI clients read later.

04

One knowledge base across assistants

The same Hjarni notes Perplexity reads are the ones ChatGPT, Claude, and your editor read. One source of truth, every assistant.

MCP server URL for a Perplexity custom connector

https://hjarni.com/mcp

Custom remote connectors are available on Perplexity Pro, Max, and Enterprise (the free tier cannot add them). In Settings, open Connectors, add a custom remote connector, paste the URL above, choose the Streamable HTTP transport, and pick OAuth or an API key. Menu labels change, so follow Perplexity's connector help center for the current steps.

Why an answer engine is better with your own knowledge

Perplexity is excellent at finding and citing public information. What it cannot know is your private context: your preferences, your past research, the decisions your team already made. Without that, it answers about the world in general, not about your situation.

Hjarni gives it that missing half. Your notes live as Markdown you own, hosted in the EU, and Perplexity reads only what you connect it to, only when you ask.

Because Perplexity now supports custom remote MCP connectors on its paid tiers, adding Hjarni is a one-time setup. The same notes are then available to every other MCP client you use.
